Our Policies

VALUABLES OR MONEY
The home has a safe for valuables or money. All necessary documentation will be completed and a receipt given. In the interests of everyone in the Nursing Home all residents are advised against keeping large amounts of money. The home cannot accept responsibility for valuables brought in and not handed in for safekeeping. Our existing policies cover personal effects up to a maximum of £500 per resident. If property of a greater value is retained, furs, jewellery, etc these must be covered by a separate insurance for which the residents or his /her representative must be responsible. Every care is taken in securing the home, but residents are requested not to keep large sums of cash or valuables in their rooms. A detailed list of such valuables must be handed in and kept in the Nursing Home ‘Safe’, until arrangements can be made to dispose of them by relatives.

NO RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE TAKEN FOR ITEMS NOT HANDED IN FOR SAFEKEEPING (a receipt will be given). The nurse in charge must be made aware of items bought into the home that are valuable i.e.. ornaments and personal jewellery etc. No responsibility can be taken for lost clothing, which are not labeled clearly. We are able to place valuables into our safe if requested and hold an inventory of the contents of the safe. Residents or relatives have the opportunity to view their valuables at any reasonable time.

LAUNDRY
We aim to maintain dignity to all our residents. Care is offered in a sensitive manner at all times, using respectful informality. Our in-house laundry service ensures their personal clothing is clean and in a good state of repair. We ensure our residents are appropriately dressed at all times. Personal laundry requiring machine washing is carried out on our premises and is included in the fees. Dry cleaning will be charged at cost.

PLEASE ENSURE ALL PERSONAL CLOTHES ARE MARKED

DAMAGES
Rooms /Beds - Damage caused by a resident’s negligence will incur a charge. A room will be allocated to the resident before admission. If a change occurs, then the Matron will inform the family /resident beforehand . Residency in the home does not constitute a tenancy within the meaning of the Rents act. We, therefore, reserve the right to terminate the licence to occupy a bed or room in the home on a formal written notice of 4 weeks. Equally, any resident who wishes to terminate occupation MUST also give four weeks notice in writing. In the event of the resident vacating the room for whatever reason, we reserve the right to make a charge where the applicable notice has not been given. This consists of full fees until all possessions have been removed.
